Intermediate Apprenticeship in Workbased Horticulture - Sportsturf - Groundsman

About the course

This qualification covers the basic principles of the role of a groundsman; focussing on maintenance, repair and presentation of sports pitches. It is suitable for new entrants to the industry or those wishing to gain a qualification demonstrating competence

Venue

Work Based blended delivery programme consisting predominantly of on-site training and assessment within the workplace, supported by off-site technical training at local training and assessment venues as required. Course teaching, learning and assessment is enhanced through the effective use of e portfolio and distance learning resources to ensure flexible delivery is responsive to learner, employer and situational needs.

Programme Length

Work-based delivery over a minimum * of 24 months, dependent on initial assessment.

*Minimum durations apply for 16 – 18 year olds. 19 + learners can apply for accredited prior learning which may reduce the duration. Funding rules dictate a minimum of 12 months duration.

Combined Competence and Knowledge Qualification: ·

Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Horticulture – Sportsturf - Groundsman

1 Legislative Course e.g. PA1, Safe Use of Mowers
