Learning and assessment
Students gain practical skills and experience in Croxteth Park. Each of the course components includes a separate practical assessment.

Special requirements
Costs that are mandatory for the course:
Students require sensible outdoor clothing (including waterproofs). PPE is available but many students prefer to use their own, advice is available from tutors. Approx £150
The Arboriculture Routes to Employment programme is free for students aged 16 – 18 and Liverpool City Region residents aged 19 or over*.

Costs that are optional for the course:
PPE – chainsaw boots, clothing, helmets and ear defenders. (Approx £100-£250)
Work experience
Students gain valuable work experience in the woodlands at Croxteth Park or may participate in an external work placement.
